Pengerupukan is part of Nyepi day in Bali
Every region has their own way to celebrate the new year. all the people in he world celebrate the new year on 1st of january, the moslem has their own new year called muharam year, the chinese also has gong xi fat choy, the balinese society has Nyepi of their new year.
The word of nyepi is meaning Silence. On the nyepi day all people are prohibited to do their normal daily activities, the people should stay in their houses, no lighting and no traffic are allowed, no one works, and no entertainments. the Pecalang (traditional balinese security man) will check and control the street continously to keep safe. Nyepi day or day of silence is the celebration day of the balinese lunar new year. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono opens Bali Democracy Forum IV in Bali
Nusa Dua – Bali Democracy Forum (IV) was officially opened by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. The forum was attended by representatives from 80 countries in the Asia Pacific. The opening of the forum was conducted in Nusantara Room, Bali International Convention Center, Nusa Dua, Bali, Thursday (08/12/2011), at around 10:15 pm. The opening ceremony was covered by local and international media.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono delivered a little speech before the opening event. According to him, Indonesia was proud to host the intergovernmental forum to discuss the problems of democracy. In his opening speech, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono emphasize that the democracy must be prioritize some important things, including freedom. Local community organizations supports 19th ASEAN summit security
Three young people’s organizations in Bali, namely Dewan Pimpinan Daerah Bali Forum Study Aksi Demokrasi (Fosad), Laskar Bali, and Pembela Kesatuan Tanah Air (Peta), ready to secure the arrival of President Barack Obama and the implementation of the 19 th ASEAN Summit held on 17-19 November 2011 in Nusa Dua, Bali.
Balinese people are very open to anyone, but is not expected to do a demo action that could tarnish the name of the international Bali, said Chairman of Laskar Bali, Agung Ketut Alit accompanied by his secretary Rohcineng.
